Dx through Technology Change at Southern Methodist University

An EDUCAUSE Research Case Study

Abstract

Like many institutions, Southern Methodist University (SMU) comprises many schools and departments, all with their own IT needs and wants. SMU IT leaders saw an opportunity to combine centralized IT with the school-based IT organizations across campus into a single IT organization. This approach would not only improve normal operations and business processes but also position IT tools, networks, infrastructure, and people to more rapidly and professionally support the burgeoning and ever-changing demands of computational researchers.
