ASURITE: How to Avoid Creating a Distributed Computing "Tower of Babel"!

The entire computer industry is racing at breakneck speed to implement client/server applications and begin reaping the benefits of the new distributed computing paradigm. However, there are many ways to implement a client/server environment and institutions must plan their implementations to avoid technological anarchy and keep from creating a "Tower of Babel" in which the pieces do not cooperate. This presentation will discuss the distributed computing architecture Arizona State University has established for ensuring all the new distributed pieces will actually work together. This architectural approach is called ASURITE or ASU Rational Information Technology Environment.
