Abstract
While systems developers are being encouraged to adopt client/server approaches as quickly as possible, these systems architectures and tools are still evolving. Client/server systems often require substantial changes in how developers approach and fund systems development projects. Successful applications must be built on standards and a well-defined system architecture, and there are data administration issues to be reconciled as well. This article examines key management concerns that must be addressed in evaluating campus client/server strategies.
