Abstract
This article is from a regular department in _CAUSE/EFFECT_ that reports on the activities of the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), formed by the Association of Research Libraries, CAUSE, and Educom. The author, chair of the CNI steering committee, discusses the importance of informing higher education leaders not about the next exciting piece of "future perfect" technology, but rather about the potential of technology for supporting and managing the business of the institution in a time of constant change.
