Preparing for Virtual Commerce in Higher Learning


According to Norris and Olson, virtual commerce will be an important component of the 21st-century learning environment. However, most colleges and universities today are not developing the core competencies and pilot projects necessary to engage in it. This article defends the case for virtual commerce as key to the Knowledge Age and provides examples of some of the initiatives that campuses today can use to develop the vital competencies for tomorrow.
