Connecting 500 Students in One Week!

Abstract

Each September, Bryant College's information technology (IT) department is faced with the challenge of quickly and efficiently providing network connections for students. In fall 1998, the department used aspects of business process reengineering and a lot of "thinking outside the box" to connect more students than ever in a one-week time period. Most importantly, there was a team composed of students and IT professionals who worked together with a common goal. This article describes the "Getting Connected 98" program activities that accounted for its success.
