Universities and other public and nonprofit institutions are not immune to the digital economy and the sea change that has occurred in business relationships. This presentation will elaborate on how the University of Minnesota is transforming itself and how the organization is being restructured to support a comprehensive and integrated e-business strategy. Especially noteworthy is the establishment of a common framework that links and markets services in walk-in centers, and on Web sites and phone services. The presenters will demonstrate how they are structuring a process and system for ongoing, cross-departmental, Web-based business process redesign. They also will explore the challenges of cross-training, new HR requirements, and marketing in establishing walk-in centers. The session will conclude with a demonstration of the University's new "One Stop" Intranet.
