Abstract
Begun in 1990, The Campus Computing Project is the largest continuing study of the role of information technology in American higher education. The session will present new data from the project's 2002 survey. Key topics include user support issues, e-commerce, wireless networks, strategic and financial planning for IT, instructional integration of information technology, campus IT standards, campus portal plans, Web site services, and IT budgets. The presentation also includes new national data about ERP planning and implementation efforts. This session will also include a presentation summarizing new data from Peking University, which recently completed a survey of more than 500 colleges and universities in China, using many items from the US Campus Computing questionnaire. Peking University is a participant in the Asian Campus Computing Survey (ACCS), which is affiliated with the US Campus Computing Project, and includes universities in China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.
