Abstract
This ECAR case study chronicles the IT outsourcing component of the California State University's $400 million ERP implementation. Based on the 1996 Integrated Technology Strategy and subsequent studies, this 23-campus institution was spending $50-60 million annually to operate more than 20 separate data centers. This university has adopted a common management system (ERP) making it possible to consolidate data center operations.
