Abstract
In October 2001, confidential medical records were exposed to public viewing from the University of Montana's Web site. Recognizing that what occurred was a public relations disaster, what followed is best described as disaster recovery. The presentation will review the incident, what changes have occurred at UM in response, and what other organizations might learn from this experience.
