Abstract
This presentation is from the 2004 Net@EDU Annual Member Meeting.
Authentication of identity and the use of "signatures" in electronic transactions pose a significant challenge in the higher education venue. This program provides an overview of the current state of the law and legal history related to authentication of transactions. The presenter will discuss the related privacy issues and the legal risks and liabilities involved with compliance with the rapidly evolving laws.
