Abstract
Leveraged for institutional applications, directories are also increasingly relied on to supply location and access information from off-campus organizations. Shibboleth, a Web-based inter-organizational authorization system, leverages attribute repositories such as directories and the larger identity management infrastructure to service inter-institutional applications and resources sharing. This session will provide an overview, along with a discussion of the role the directory plays and its impact on architectures of the future.
