Women CIOs in Higher Education

Abstract

In the professional field of information technology, women are generally underrepresented, and this gap grows wider at the upper end of the field—CIOs and other senior IT executives. Because IT has become such an integral part of our everyday lives, the author of this research bulletin is undertaking a research project to investigate the possible reasons behind the lack of proportionality for women as IT executives.
