Abstract
EDUCAUSE joined with numerous higher education associations and institutions to submit a legal brief in support of the University of Texas in the 2015 reconsideration of Fisher v. University of Texas by the U.S. Supreme Court. The university’s position, shared by the broader higher education community, was that the Court should uphold past precedent and continue to allow colleges and universities to include race as one factor among many in determining admissions. The community cited the compelling role of a diverse student body in advancing educational goals as the basis for its position.
