EDUCAUSE Comments on FY 2016 House Education Appropriations Bill

Abstract

EDUCAUSE joined letters advanced by the American Council on Education on behalf of the higher education community indicating areas of support and concern regarding the FY 2016 House Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies appropriations bill. One letter discusses the positives and negatives of proposed funding levels for different higher education programs, while the other does the same in relation to various policy provisions proposed as attachments to the bill. For example, the policy letter highlights the proposal to bar the U.S. Department of Education from implementing its regulations on state authorization requirements for distance education programs and a federal definition of the credit hour.
