Abstract
EDUCAUSE joined higher education community letters from the American Council on Education and the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities in support of the Bar Removal of Individuals who Dream and Grow our Economy (BRIDGE) Act, a bipartisan bill sponsored by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Dick Durbin (D-IL). The BRIDGE Act seeks to establish in law the protections provided by the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which was created by an Obama Administration executive order, to undocumented individuals brought to the U.S. as children. Those include the temporary right to live and work in the United States without fear of deportation pending approval of legislation enacting comprehensive immigration reform.
