Abstract

National Data Privacy Day celebrations are held on January 28 each year, and many higher education institutions host awareness events and coordinate activities throughout the months of January and February. These resources are part of 2017 EDUCAUSE data privacy awareness activities and are designed to help data privacy professionals encourage the higher education community to respect privacy, safeguard data, and enable trust.

In 2017, many institutions hosted awareness events and coordinated activities throughout the months of January and February. EDUCAUSE offered a free webinar, published 12 new guest blogs in the Security Matters column, and hosted an open call of the Higher Education Chief Privacy Officers Working Group to discuss the privacy implications of third-party services.
