Reinvesting in the Informatiuon Job Family: Context, Changes, New Jobs, & Models for Evaluation & Compensation

Professional Paper #11. An exploration of the idea that professionals who manage information on campus -- whether from the computing or library community -- could be considered part of a single "job family." The authors report results of a study designed to determine how similar or dissimilar jobs were in libraries and academic computing in selected universities, and to test a methodology for measuring their similarities and comparability (a point-factor analysis system developed at the University of Pittsburgh). Funded by Apple Computer, Inc. Published in cooperation with Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and College and University Personnel Association (CUPA).
