Abstract
This article is from a regular department in _CAUSE/EFFECT_ that reports on the activities of the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI), formed by the Association of Research Libraries, CAUSE, and Educom. The author, chair of the CNI steering committee, discusses how the digitization of scholarly information is influencing changes in delivery mechanisms, intellectual property rights, and the information requirements of faculty, and, in turn, how all of these are influencing library budgeting decisions.
