Washington, DC has witnessed a dizzying growth of associations and think tanks focused on analyzing, and in some instances, attempting to directly influence federal policy for information technology. Many businesses, nonprofits and private citizens have created issue-specific coalitions, while others focus on broader social issues. This Webcast from the Networking 2000 conference features speakers that represent a wide-variety of organizations and offers what they believe will be the important IT issues over the upcoming legislative year and some of the end-goals they are working towards. Panelists include: Walter Baer, Senior Policy Analyst, RAND Corporation; Jerry Berman, Executive Director, Center for Democracy and Technology; Andy Carvin, Senior Associate, The Benton Foundation; and Solveig Singleton, Director of Information Studies, CATO Institute.
