Abstract

This presentation was given at the AAHE Assessment Conference.How can we know that virtual communities of practice(VcoPs), which are designed to promote professional development, substantially contribute to the learning of their participants? What kinds of professional learning do VcoPs facilitate? The presenters report on existing methodologies for evaluating the success of VcoPs focused on promoting the professional learning of higher education professionals.
