Abstract

What is the purpose of higher education? Is it only to prepare skilled workers for the global economy of the 21st century, or does higher education also have a responsibility to prepare undergraduates to become engaged, active citizens in a democracy? This presentation focuses on how colleges and universities can be intentional about the work of citizenship preparation.
