Abstract
This ECAR research bulletin presents highlights from the 2011 ECAR Symposium, held July 28–29 in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to a synthesis of keynote talks by Doug Lynch, University of Pennsylvania Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Education, Ryan Oakes, Accenture Higher Education Senior Executive, and Brad Wheeler, Indiana University Vice President for Information Technology and CIO, the bulletin captures and explores the creative ideas from participant discussions. The symposium included a talk about the future of ECAR research by Susan Grajek, EDUCAUSE Vice President for Data, Research, and Analytics. See slides from the 2011 ECAR Symposium and the 2011–2012 ECAR Research Agenda.
A video interview with several Symposium attendees was created on-site, while they completed the statement: “For IT to Be A Game-Changer in Higher Education, We Must…”
