Case Studies in STEM Innovation

Abstract

Launched by HP’s Office of Sustainability & Social Innovation, the HP Catalyst Initiative is fortifying STEM+ education across the globe by providing educators with technology and support to execute their innovative projects and programs. This collection of 44 case studies chronicles the planning and implementation of these projects, with a focus on best practices, obstacles, and technology use. What makes this research especially valuable is that every principal investigator involved contributed their insights on what it takes to lead a successful technology-based project in hugely varied contexts and settings (e.g. a rural village in India, a primary school in Australia, a community college in Canada, and a museum in California to name a few). The projects in the HP Catalyst Initiative are organized by six consortium, each of which have a different focus: Global Collaboratory, Measuring Learning, Multi-versity, The New Learner, Pedagogy 3.0, and STEM-preneur.

The New Media Consortium (NMC) was acquired by EDUCAUSE in February 2018.
