Abstract
"Profiles of Next Generation Learning" is a video series produced by Next Generation Learning Challenges (NGLC) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Each video explores the ways schools and campuses are leveraging technology to make learning more personal, more flexible, and more meaningful to today’s students.
In this video, learn how NGLC grantee Wake Forest University and Odigia are creating a biology e-textbook that teaches students how to learn in addition to what to learn. BioBook dismisses the idea that learning should be linear. Instead, students are encouraged to visualize and create connections between key concepts. In the interactive, web-based text, students can pose questions for other students, engage with and add interactive content, and take time to test their own knowledge.
