Abstract
For more than a decade, educators and scholars have explored, researched, and implemented blogs in academic settings in a wide variety of ways. Many uses of blogs are still common in academia, but what other aspects of blog use might be uncovered? The Pennsylvania State University has a rich technology ecosystem for faculty, staff, and students, and the university’s Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence, in collaboration with Education Technology Services, undertook a study of blogs on campus to learn more about their use on the part of faculty and students, including as tools for the classroom.
The Seeking Evidence of Impact (SEI) program is intended to bring the teaching and learning community into a discussion about ways of gathering evidence of the impact of our innovations and current practices. The goal of the SEI case studies is to provide examples of successful projects evaluating the impact of innovation, technology, and best practices in teaching and learning.
