Abstract
Members of the higher education teaching and learning community gathered online for the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative Fall Focus Session on September 15 and 16, 2015, to talk about role of the leader in teaching and learning initiatives, looking for elements and activities that contribute to success. Many of the lessons and recommendations surrounding leadership are common to any kind of project. Still, reminders of good practices and sage advice can be valuable, and some time-tested leadership attributes take on new dimensions in the kinds of complex, collaborative environments that often characterize higher education teaching and learning.
