Advising Technology Across the Student Journey

Abstract

This resource is intended to help practitioners gain a deeper understanding of the source systems, advising tools, and add-on student support features that provide information from and about students to institutions. This resource follows a hypothetical student through major milestones, featuring advising technologies that may be used at those junctures to support and enhance their experiences. To develop this resource, EDUCAUSE collaborated with the Advising Success Network, the Ada Center, Substantial, and Tyton Partners to summarize relevant literature and recent interviews with staff and students. As the advising technology marketplace is complex and rapidly shifting, the specific examples identified will likely need to be continually revisited and updated over time.
