Abstract
Ball State University has been a statewide leader in welcoming students and staff personnel with special needs requirements. The Office of Disabled Student Development has provided a full time coordinator who was charged with removing architectural barriers and helping provide the best possible learning environment for all persons attending the University regardless of individual disabilities. Through these efforts the University has been recognized at both the state and national level for initiatives in this area.
