The Future of Learning: An Interview with Alfred Bork

Abstract

Alfred Bork has worked in technology-based learning for forty years. He is Professor Emeritus of Information and Computer Science and Physics at the University of California, Irvine, having been also at the University of Alaska, Reed College, and Harvard University. Bork is founder and director of the Educational Technology Center in Irvine, California, doing research and development for interactive, individualized, multimedia learning modules. Bork has been personally involved in about sixty of the student-computer dialogues developed by the center. He is vice-president of A. Bork Endeavors, a consulting organization. This interview highlights Bork's thoughts on creating highly interactive learning environments.
