Comprehensive Ubiquitous Computing: Beyond the Laptop Initiative

Abstract

Many institutions of higher education have chosen to approach the development and use of instructional technology in a segmented manner. This presentation discusses instructional technology in a college that intentionally chose a different approach. Technology is being integrated institution-wide. The entire college has been made a laboratory for the development and continuous updating of technology. The intent is to develop all users' abilities to function in a state-of-the-art environment. "Users" encompass students, faculty, and staff.
