Abstract
How many times have you clicked and squinted through countless Web pages and searches to find one simple, essential piece of information? In creating University of North Carolina's portal, the MyUNC team learned a great deal about how large institutions and their departments entrench themselves in arcane information structures, isolating their customers from the information they need.
