s part of a Provost initiative, The Cornell University Academic Technology Center created the Lynx program to assist faculty with integrating instructional technology into their courses. The program involves a select group of students who become Lynx staff members. Lynx students are trained and certified through a comprehensive curriculum that covers a variety of instructional technologies, as well as communication and teaching skills. Once they've completed this curriculum, the Lynx students are available to work with university faculty members in their offices on course-related projects.
As part of the certification process, students must produce an original digital story that relates to them personally. The development of these digital stories, which take the form of brief videos with full audio and multimedia production, requires the students to integrate the various skills they have learned, and thus serves as the capstone for their Lynx training experience. The stories are then shared with other students in the program which creates a strong sense of community within the organization.
