From Dog and Pony to Best of Show

Abstract

The University System of Georgia continues to provide numerous opportunities for faculty to increase their instructional technology knowledge and skills. Even with these opportunities, developing online course materials is a complex undertaking. Rarely are faculty able to create high-quality programs, courses, and course materials that demonstrate appropriate learning strategies for online learning, that are considered easy to use by students, and that comply with copyright. To increase the likelihood that online courses and course materials address pedagogical, technical, and legal issues in appropriate ways, the University System of Georgia is creating a collection of online teaching tools. These tools are a work in progress, but components will address the various standards advocated in the USG as well as program development strategies and accompanying online services.
