This ECAR research bulletin details the strategic approach to IT governance currently in practice at Nottingham Trent University in the UK. With applicability to higher education institutions globally, the bulletin covers the practical matters related to adopting a model and then putting governance into practice. This IT governance strategy is based on established models and measurable indicators of good practices across all necessary elements in higher education IT—for example, strategic alignment with institutional goals and management of human, technology, and financial resources, systems, projects, and services. It also addresses IT organization structures, policies, and decision making.
