Abstract
Since 2012, Zayed University has been involved in the federal UAE Mobile Learning Initiative, which aims to promote the use of mobile devices for classroom teaching and learning in an effort to increase student motivation and engagement and to promote 21st-century learning by integrating relevant emerging technologies for teaching and learning in and out of the classroom. Four certificate courses serve as the foundation of professional development for faculty to incorporate mobile devices in their courses. The certificate courses have increased faculty participation in CEI-led professional development programs.
