Abstract

More conversation than presentation, Matthew Aron, Marianne Gianacopoulos, and Janet Sedgley, will lead this webinar about achieving faculty buy-in of new instructional technologies. The session will begin with each briefly discussing some framing thoughts on the matter and some of their favorite approaches. Matthew will discuss empathy in faculty development and getting faculty to embrace the techniques on their way to getting comfortable with the technologies. Marianne will talk about her research study that sought to understand why people decide to use technology and why others do not use technology. Janet will talk about partnering with faculty to help solve accessibility issues with a focus on the faculty perspective. We will then broaden the discussion out to Q’n’A with the whole Instructional Technologies Community Group.
