Abstract
This JISC interim report brings together the findings from the first six weeks of the initiative which has sought to learn from recent rapid change.
It draws on JISC sector webinars, meetings and wider research to explore three specific areas: changing student needs, changing staff needs and emerging best practice in response to COVID-19.
There are three horizons under consideration by the initiative:
- Short term: the current (2020) rapid transition to technology-enhanced learning and support as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Medium term: university ambitions and support for transition to a sustainable plan in academic year 2021/2022
- Long term: developing a vision for the future with the academic year 2030/2031 in mind This paper describes the outcomes of the early work of the initiative. A subsequent report will expand on these initial ideas and map out the landscape of change that is needed to embrace digital transformation more fully.
