Abstract
EDUCAUSE recently supported a letter from the broader higher education association community that asked the U.S. House and Senate appropriations committees to use the current budget surplus in the Pell Grant program to once again make Pell Grants available to students on a year-round basis. Issued on March 16, 2017, the letter highlighted the strong, bipartisan support for such a move, which would enhance the ability of students to persist to degree completion as well as to improve their time to degree.
